So I think the gimmick got me and I'm out a whopping $8 that will get me nice and buzzed up tonight. Overall this is a nice wine that would be a nice table wine, but does not seem to be helped by the "bourbon barrel" that it was in for 30 days. I'm a fan of a nice full bodied red that leaves the mouth bone dry which is not really this wine: the nose is sweeter than I usually go for and it is medium-bodied. I'm not really sure if the barrels actually had bourbon in them before or if the blend of red (thinking Cabernet, Merlot, and something else that is less "full-bodied" because it's somewhat spicy and fruity, though I may be just pulling that out of my ass) is just to rich that it overshadows the little bit of added sweetness of the bourbon remnants.
